Sergeant John Lundy is the ideal American Soldier, calculated and calm, quick to make life and death decisions. Both on and off the battlefield his fellow Soldiers look to him for guidance, morale, and support. But when Lundy suddenly finds himself in the middle of a strange pub, his confidence quickly falls away. Seeing his confusion, the bartender intervenes and Lundy immediately recognizes him as Sergeant Berge. But Berge died in an ambush months ago. Berge is quick to inform Lundy that he is 'on his way out too.' At the same time, medics rush Lundy's gravely wouned body into an E.R. in the heart of Baghdad. The military medical personnel are not optimistic about Lundy's chances to survive. Back in the bar, Berge explains that Lundy is caught in his own manifestation between life and death. He tells Lundy that the only way out is to face the man who shot him. When Lundy protests, Berge insists that he can't move on if he dies with anger and hate in his soul. Reluctantly, Lundy agrees to confront his killer. All the while, the doctors race against the clock to save Lundy's life in the hospital. Next, Lundy finds himself in a tent that looks strangely familiar. A fellow American Soldier sits, alone, on the far bunk. Lundy doesn't believe what he is seeing, but Berge is quick to inform him that he is a victim of friendly fire. Lundy is outraged at the thought of a fellow Soldier being so careless. Meanwhile, in the hospital, the situation worsens. Lundy soon learns that he, himself, is not free of flaw and guilt. As time is running out, Berge urges Lundy to face the Soldier. Lundy struggles and must muster up the strength to forgive his killer before it is too late. Florida State University
